Local Attractions

Crianlarich is very well situated for exploring a wide area of the Scottish Highlands and Central Scotland. Glencoe, Inveraray Castle, Callander and The Trossachs are all close at hand.

Walking & Sight-Seeing
Opportunities to sample the 'Great Outdoors' abound in this part of the Scottish Highlands. Crianlarich is half way along the West Highland Way - a 100 mile long distance walk. The West Highland Way starts just north of Glasgow and ends at Fort William, so staying in Crianlarich is an ideal way to see a good stretch of the walk. The Falls of Dochart are a particularly famous and strikingly picturesque landmark.

Mountain Climbing
Crianlarich is also surrounded by some of the highest mountains and hills in Scotland, with the opportunity to climb a number of Munro's (mountains over 3000 feet above sea level). Ben More - which overlooks the hotel - is over 3800 feet high and Stob Binnein, Cruach Ardrasin, Ben Lui, Ben Dorain, Ben Challum and Ben Lawers all waiting to be climbed.  There is also a wide choice of easier walks that start at Ben More Lodge.

Golf
Golf enthusiasts will love Ben More and especially the excellent golf courses at Killin, Dalmally, Drieff and Comrie - all within a short car journey of Ben More Lodge Hotel.

Other Activities
Horse Riding and Canoeing are available nearby and we are happy to arrange either or both of these for our guests either in advance or upon arrival.

Fishing
We can issue permits for trout and salmon fishing just 50 yards from the lodges.  Permits cost £4.00 per day and we can vouch for the quality of the fish - we use locally-caught salmon and trout in our award-winning restaurant.
